SEO is a way of getting your ‘name’ to appear higher in a search on Google or another search engine (eg. Yahoo, AltaVista, MSN).
It is ALL ABOUT advertising and marketing. If you have a product to sell, you would want your product to appear 1st in the search results, not on page 13. You will get more ‘clicks’ to your website this way.
